10:00-17:30 on Saturday 21st November 2009

Thanks to all who came and contributed! Some reactions:

  • Wow. [Tom] covered so much ground
  • Everything I see and hear today has links to the Improv event on Sat
  • What a fantastic day I had at the improv for Agile Coaches. Thanks to Tom for the brilliant content and Mike and David for organising.
  • My chief learning from today's improvisation for Agile coaches session: When I grow up I want to be an improv theatre player!
  • improv highly entertaining - acting, drawing and comedy, and it turns out that we're all at least a little bit afraid of failure...
  • Lunch time at #acguk and what a great morning we had.

Here are some notes from the improv workshop and term papers

Under the expert direction and facilitation of Tom Salinsky, join us to learn the fundamentals of theatre improvisation and how it relates to agile teams and coaching!

Awareness of others, fluent collaboration, invention, imagination, innovation: all things we'd like to see in our teams and organisations. At the first Agile Coaches Gathering earlier this year, it turned out that several of us had been exposed to theatre improvisation: some of the most popular sessions in the open space were based on these experiences. We'd like to introduce these ideas to more people in the agile coaching community.

Within a specially assembled curriculum tailored to the unique needs of Agile Coaches, you will experience improvisation first hand and come away with techniques that will add another dimension to your team coaching. The day will be practical, challenging, stimulating and fun! We'll close with a short retrospective to identify lessons learned and draw out themes and ideas for using improv techniques in our day-to-day work with teams and individuals.
